- Dr. Léo DucasSubmenu
Léo Ducas is senior researcher in the Cryptology group at Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI). He obtained his PhD at École normale supérieure (ENS) in Paris, on the topic of Lattice-based Cryptography. After a post-doc at the University of California in San Diego (USA), Léo Ducas joined the CWI Cryptology Group in 2015, where he was granted tenure in 2019.
His primary research interests include construction and cryptanalysis of practical lattice-based cryptographic schemes. He is known, for instance, for his work on several prominent proposals in the NIST post-quantum cryptography standardization competition (NewHope, Frodo, Kyber, Dilithium) and for various mathematical cryptanalysis results impacting the evaluation process in this competition.
Léo was awarded an ERC Starting Grant in 2020 for quantum-safe cryptography, in 2016 he received the Facebook Internet Defense Prize and in 2016 he was also awarded an NWO VENI grant.
