The Switching Service (Overstapservice) is a service offered to simplify payments account switching between payment service providers in the Netherlands
The Switching Service (Overstapservice) is a service offered by Dutch payment service providers. The service ensures that payments continue to proceed smoothly, for a period of 13 months, after switching from one payment account to another. Transactions are transferred to the new payment account and, for example, creditors are informed of the new account number.
The Payments Association provides the communication regarding the Switching Service and takes care for the improvement of the service in collaboration with its members. The Dutch Switching Service is compliant with Article 10 of the Payments Account Directive.
