Payment Service Providers are not allowed to start the 10!n structure of the NL IBAN with the number sequence 099. On behalf of the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration and the participating PSPs, this number sequence is reserved for the Closed User Group (CUG) for G Accounts. Participants of this G Account CUG may issue NL IBANs with the number 099 at position 9-11, only for this type of account.
By excluding the 099 sequence, accession to the G Accounts CUG remains a possibility for the future.
