Annual Conference 2019 – Secure payment

The safe processing and storage of customers’ money has been a core task of banks for centuries. Banking fraud in the Netherlands runs into millions but is relatively low compared to the enormous transaction numbers and the volume of money. Banks and payment institutions want to keep it that way. The Annual Conference discussed the current challenges and how consumers view fraud and security. This is an impression of the day.

 

 

New website basisbankrekening.nl

Banks and emergency services have agreed that anyone over the age of 18 with a known residence address should be able to open a payment account. On Basisbankrekening.nl social workers and people from the target group will find all the information they need.

Safe Banking Campaigns

Criminals chase up debit cards and bank customers’ personal details in a variety of ways. They do this by means of false e-mails, unexpected phone calls or by addressing them on the street. Marc van Veilig Bankieren TV explains which tricks criminals use and what customers can do about it. An online campaign is now underway to draw consumers’ attention to the information videos.
